Help need with labels

Hi all,

I have some movie titles that have a couple of resolutions, say 1080p and 4K. eg: MyMovie_2021_1080p.mkv and MyMovie_2021_4K.mkv.

I want to restrict users from playing the 4K versions so I thought I would add a label to the 4K versions. Like UHD. However, adding a label seems to add it to both versions of the Movie and the user ends up not seeing that movie at all.

Is there a way to only add the label to the 4K version?

TIA

You can only do this if you actually split the items… however this will result in 2 items of the same movie showing up for you.
Have you considered moving your 4K media into a separate library? I believe that’s the more common approach these days.

I suppose if I split them and label just one can I join them back with just one movie retaining its label?

Yes, I have but I’m not a fan as it’s messy.

No… the label applies to the library item – not individual files/versions.

Thank you.

If you have two version of the same movie 4k and 1080p under the same movie title then the 1080p will be the version that is sent to remote users when they select the movie. At least this is working for me.

So even if the filenames are different like MyMovie_2021_1080p.mkv and MyMovie_2021_4K.mkv. The 1080p will be the one sent to the remote users.

Yes but they have to under the same movie title. The movie title will have the number of movies under that title.
