[Help Needed] Why aren't all my albums showing up in my library?

Hello,

I have just installed Plex server and set it up for the very first time.

I have imported my library but only 5 of my music albums are show up.

Does anyone have any thought on what might be causing this?

How can I get all my albums to show up?

Are your music files in a folder hierarchy?
Are they named consistently?
Do they have complete embedded meta tags?

@OttoKerner,

They probably aren’t as organised as they could be.

Will this stop them from appearing in the library?

Maybe.
Where is your server running?
Which version of the server do you have?

Enable debug logs. (not ‘verbose’ please)
Make a test and create a new folder. Call it Music test or something.
Then create a new music library and point it to this new folder.

Then pick one album and rename the files according to the file and folder schema in my links.
Then add it to the new folder.
Update the library.

Continue to add one album at a time until a new album fails to show up (but give it plenty of time inbetween).
Then zip up the log folder and attach it.

There is software out there which can assist you with renaming your files and embedding proper meta tags.
MusicBrainz Picard or mp3tag for instance.
