Music Albums not showing up after Scan Library Files

Server Version#: 1.19.4.2935
Player Version#: n/a

I have not been able to see any new albums that I have added to my music library. When I do a “Scan Library Files” I see the “Activity” scanning and it’s processing the new albums that was added. But, it never shows up in the music library. Every time I do a “Scan Library Files” on Music, I see the same new album being scanned again.

Is there something I can look at to see why the album not getting in the database to display in Plex?

If you’re comfortable digging through log files, you can take a look. Or you could gather the log files, post them here, and one of the Ninjas can take a look.

I’m not sure what I’m looking for in the log files. The albums that I’m trying to scan in is “Joe Jackson” but there are quite a few that isn’t showing up either.

I am new here, and have tried to add all my mp3 music in PC into a Plex music library. I have managed the library and also checked the path in my PC as shown were correct, even scanned the library files. None could be shown/found. Please could you help what else I missed to do. thanks.

I’m having the same issues as you - some music downloads import automatically, others do not, despite the naming schemes being the same.

I wonder that finally the problem could be solved by putting all my mp3 file into iTunes folder under C:. Now all the mp3 audio files can shown and played.

Such as C:\Users\xxxxxx\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\

Hello there -
Are you still in need of assistance? I was pulling my hair with the same issue as you. I went about fixing it somewhat unscientifically, but it must have been one of these two things.

First, I was looking at my .mp3s with a tagger program looking for any inconsistencies that I thought might trip up Plex. The only things I changed were I added a ‘year’ into the tag, and I changed the numbering scheme (in the tag) from 1/10, 2/10, 3/10, etc. to 01, 02, 03, etc.

Then I followed the steps they call the Plex Dance. For music files, you can ignore step #4. Here is the link.

Please let me know if you have any luck!

Here is the link to the steps for the Dance:

Oh, btw… I’m a huge JJ fan too! I think that’s what caught my eye about your conundrum!
