As I’m working through my cds converting them all to mp3 & adding them to my Plex library, I’m noticing that some albums are missing a number of tracks from the library & others are completely missing.
If I view my music library by folder I am able to navigate to the specific folder but the missing tracks are not showing up in these folders. If I navigate to the folder in Finder the tracks are there, they are also included in my Swinsian library where I am able to play them back with no issue. For some reason Plex is not acknowledging them.
All cds are being ripped with the same software on the same setting & I’m being very careful with my naming & tagging, I’m also making sure I have a good folder structure - Artist>Album>Tracks
I’ve tried moving the folders out of view of Plex, rescanning the library & moving the folders back again then rescanning in the hope they will show up. This has not worked for me.
After you made the changes to the agents config, you may want to Plex Dance the problematic albums. (With music you can actually leave out step 4 of the Dance)
I worked through your suggestions, my metadata agents were already set the same way so I went ahead and performed the Plex dance with one of my folders where some songs were showing up and others weren’t.
Unfortunately it did not work for me.
I’ve attached screenshots of what my Plex library shows, what I see if I view my music library by folder then select that particular folder, what I see if I navigate to that folder in Finder & how the tracks are tagged.
This seems unlikely in your case, since you’ve been ripping with the same settings, etc., but you never know, so - Are the file permissions consistent on all the files in the folder?
I’ve attached a screenshot of the Soulfly artist page. You can see that there is a total of 8 albums in there, there should be 10 - 8 mp3 albums & 2 flac albums. It is missing Conquer & Omen. Of the 8 albums it is showing, all tracks are present & correct in all albums but Prophecy.
Are there any other files in that Album folder, besides the .cue file?
Yes, there is a .log file created when I ripped the cd.
Are you using .plexignore files?
No
What happens if you update to PMS 1.0.3 ?
There is no difference.
I may require logfiles for further diagnosis.Bonus points for a download link with some example files which exhibit the faulty behaviour.
PM sent with relevant files & links to download the Prophecy folder, there are at least 5 other cds I have ripped so far that are either missing files or the whole cd won’t show up.
