Help - Nvidia Shield - corrupted database, and web app is unusable

Server Version#: 1.40.1.8251
Player Version#: 10.13.0.466 (Android TV)
Hi there

I’m running PMS on a 2017 nvidia shield with all the media stored on a synology nas mounted as network storage. They’re both hardwired on the network and I access the PMS webapp from my windows desktop. I can access the shield database files over the network in windows.

The database got corrupted a couple days ago when, for some reason, the shield decided to unmount its network storage. Plex said a couple of shows were missing, and I tried doing the Plex dance of moving the folders off the main library, scanning in Plex, then re-adding them and scanning again. Once I realized the shield was not connected to the nas, I remounted the network share, but I think the damage was done. I saw error messages in the console about a corrupted database.

I stopped the PMS app on the Shield but left the Shield itself running. From my desktop, I tried to repair the database with “DB Browser (SQLite)” but that wasn’t working. So I deleted the plex database file and replaced it with a backup copy from ~10 days ago before these issues started. Thinking about it now… I didn’t replace the blobs, only the main database file. Was that a boo-boo?

Things seemed to work at first. All my libraries and collections were/are still there, and after a scan for new media, plex found all the new things that had been added since the backup date. I can also play media fine on my TV using the built-in Plex client app on a Sony Bravia TV.

BUT, the MAIN ISSUE - The web app is completely broken.

When I tried to play a newly added file, I get:
“An error occurred trying to play [media].
Error code: s1001 (Network)”

or

“An unknown error occurred (4294967283)
Error code: 4294967283”

I can’t change any posters of movies. The poster picker screen is either blank or shows empty boxes where there should be different posters.

And the matching agent doesn’t match the movie half the time. I have to manually click “match,” and then it often sits and spins an orange wheel for a while and might match it or might not.

After the recent database restore, any newly imported movies are showing blank media info and are not playable. Using the Windows Plex player app, I can play older movies from before I borked things, but the local web version (https://192.x.x.x:32400) just sits with a spinning wheel and doesn’t play anything.

I’ve uploaded my logs. Thanks in advance, fair Plexians!

Big issue with PMS and v1.40. Others have had success with downgrading to 1.32.8

I’m having the same issue with my Nvidia shield and any new media. Old media plays fine, anything after 2 days ago gets the error.

Plex fixed it in Server Version 1.40.2.8395. Check for an update.
