Completely dead in the water. Have attempted to uninstall server and logs. Install fresh. Remove and Claim the same server. NOTHING works – and different symptoms at different times. Does not connect to sever. Sever does not allow to add libraries when it does. A mess and no way to get quality help. Very frustrated. Others recently experiencing this?
Yes I’ve been working all weekend to start a fresh PMS on a new computer using my existing Plex account and got to the point of Claiming the new server and it just says Problem logging in to Plex. At that point all of the server settings and options would disappear and I was left with just the Plex player page.
I finally got it working by uninstalling 1.18.8.2468 and searching for an old version. Found PlexMediaServer-1.15.1.791 and as soon as it ran after installing everything worked immediately and new server was linked to my account. I didn’t even have to Claim it. Then I uninstalled that version and reinstalled the newest available. All good.
This was on Windows, but the issue is the same I think. Seems like a problem with 1.18.8.2468
Thanks, pmill. I went back to a version from mid-Feb and am reconstructing everything. Unfortunately, lost my settings, etc. with all the other activities like database de-corrupting I did before bailing on the recent versions. With about 100K items, it’s not great to have lost play counts and watched status. At least I can access my Tuner and some of my library as it continues updating.
It does not help they do not make it easy to find and install prior versions via the website. I ended up using one of the saved versions from a few updates back. But, I was not confident about this. I am not confident I don’t have some old data laying around as well that will bite me later.
What a fiasco to have had such a bad version released! Very disappointed.
