HEVC Playback Issue on Non Ultra Chromecast - H4 Error

I am trying to figure out why I can no longer playback any HEVC content on my chromecast. When I try to cast to it it I get an H4 playback error. The videos that I am having issues used to work on the exact same setup. I am able to play them back on other devices (roku) and I am I able to play them back on the same device with a different server (emby). There are the logs I collected from Plex.

I understand the Chromecast Ultra supports H265 however the server should be able to transcode to H264 and it used to.

I have the same issue. My work around is once I see the h4 error on screen, to switch to playing another video, and while it’s loading quickly switch back to the previous and for some reason that works. It happens just about every time I try to play hevc videos, but I can reliably watch them now even if it takes a few tries.

I am having the same issue. The iOS devices direct stream the 265 files. I have tried 3 1080p chromecasts.
