Hey PLEX - are you paying attention

Hey PLEX team,

I hope that you’re seeing all the issues people are having with the Roku app that was just updated to version 8.6.4.xxx

There are a lot of very upset people, some have been angry, but many have been reasonable and expressing their frustration with a dramatic change to the UI.

There may be some really innovative ideas that were implemented here but they’re not universally appreciated.

I, for one, really appreciated the PLEX server and App which is what caused me to become a PLEX Pass buyer some time ago. There are a lot of loyal PLEX Pass users, some on the lifetime, some on the monthly but all of us are using your products. TV is not my life, nor that of my family, but we do congregate around the TV for relaxation and for family time. PLEX has been a huge part of that. Little’s Friday Night Movie-Night - PLEX. Date night with the wife - PLEX.

So, for all the frustration out there - there has been a lot of good…please bring that back. I agree with the posters that are saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” - PLEX was great but now it’s so hard to use.

This is a SH*T sandwich on moldy rye bread! WHAT IDIOT thought this would be a good idea? “Hey… I got it!! We’ll alienate both new AND old loyal users and utterly p*ss off EVERYONE with one huge untested ball of CRAP update!!”. I can’t even PLAY my content! It crashes on Roku as soon as I hit “play”… assuming I can GET that far! NASA couldn’t figure this out!! If they had 200 GENIUSES and ONE CAT working on the problem… they would go with the cat’s solution and just pee on the Plex server! It may be the only way to attain some sort of RELIEF from this festering pile of donkey dung “improvements” that you’ve pushed on us! I’ve been with you since the beginning, PLEX. I’m done now. This feels like a really bad government experiment that accidentally managed to break out of the quarantine lab. You suck.

I cannot prove it, but my gut tells me they also made related “updates” to the Plex Media Server software. I keep up with the Beta updates and do not recall any noticeable issues until the two most recent Beta releases. I was experiencing the issues noted in the latest version 1.42.2.10122 release notes. But after the latest update I have begun to experience the same pixilation and pausing issues on the LGTV Plex app. Mainly when watching Live TV from my HDHomeRun Flex 4k. I know which OTA channels have issues naturally and which do not. I should not bee seeing these issues. When I test the same channel using the HDHomeRun app there are no issues. The issues are only with the Plex client on Roku.

I am currently using the LGTV apps in place of the Plex app for Roku. I swear I am experiencing similar issues on the LG version of the Roku app. Not as severely or frequently, but still playback quality issues.
I cannot believe that after all the time I have put into devolving my media library specifically for Plex Media Server use that they Screw-the-Pooch like this.
