First issue is that I don’t see any artwork or images of actors, etc..
Second issue is HEVC HDR content has huge artifacts in video, audio is fine though.
Sometimes the plex app even closes with a “insufficient memory” error message
Same, if I set allow insecure connections in settings to never/never, the artwork comes back but then I can only play 720p content. If I set to allow insecure I get no artwork but can play all my content 4khdr/1080p/720p.
Both ways however have permanent subtitles that cannot be turned off, if I turn subtitles on I get 2 lots on the screen.
i have exactly the same issues as first poster with my artwork and covers. i cannot set security to any other then allow insecure connections otherwise i cannot access plex server at all for some reason. so yeah i cannot see any artwork even with allow insecure connections. i have no issues playing anything because i have direct play permanently disabled.
@robvrs setting allow insecure connections in settings to never/never makes the artwork appear indeed. Also it seems to then take the video quality setting for Remote Connections instead of local. So when I set the remote quality to also be “original” I get the same artifacts as in the photos in first post.
@kattanablade turning direct play off i can also watch everything but not in HDR anymore obviously because it gets transcoded (to x264).
Plex, please work (with Hisense if needed) on proper HEVC support!

no point in trying this because if i set to never allow insecure connections then i cant access my plex server on the tv then, which means i cannot see any covers let alone the server on my pc hahahhaa i will attempt to try this again in the next few days . i just hate playing with the settings when its all working fine except for the fancy artwork pics which we can all live with at the end of the day because when you click on the item you are interested in, the background artwork and the movie \ tv show info is all there and works fine. i just do not understand why the artwork covers do not show. … to be honest with all of you i think this issue only really started with me when the new movie tv agents appeared. but because i updated my plex from an older version i was running because of a previous issue the same day i got the new tv i really am not sure where the issue came in to my life. ;-(
