Hisense 65Q8 - Plex app has disappeared

How did you know that your TV updated it’s software?
Yesterday I went into the Settings but it checked the software/formware, and said it was current. But still I can’t connect to servers.

Honestly I have no idea. It was just a random occurrence.

A window popped up indicating the system was updating and then everything just worked.

Sorry I can’t help more mate, I find the update side of the Viida system to be a bit poor.

Yes my tv has been updated already.
And same as chris i got a notification pop-up about the update once i powered on my tv.

My 65Q8 updated it’s software last night from L0610 to L1123.
I now have Plex fully operational.
They have also added the Disney app, for those who want to subscribe to the Disney channel.

My 55S8 however still has it’s old software (L0331).

Plex app it still doesn’t work for me, for two months now. small files, large, HDR and without, x264, x265 application crashes there is some problem with the memory buffer. I don’t have a Disney app either.

That sounds strange.
I’m not an expert, but maybe try deleting the Plex server on your pc (or wherever it is), then install the latest server software from the Plex website.
Then, assuming you have the Plex app on your TV, sign out of Plex on your TV, then sign in again.
You will have to go to http://plex.tv/link and enter the code that pops up on your screen.
But before you do that, go into the settings on your Hisense and make sure Automatice Update is selected and also manually check for software updates.
If all that doesn’t work, then I guess you will just have to wait for Hisense to get around to updating the software for your model.

Hopefully that will solve your problems. Although the problems may be with the pc you have the server on, or maybe your network modem/router.
I’d do a bit more searching on this Plex website.

on other devices connected to this server everything is fine. i tried all the tricks on my part, cleaning tv data, reset, updates. recently there was a big update from hisense and the shredded green image turned to normal but the movies don’t run smoothly and after a while the memory is overflow and the application restarts. I even connected an external player with plex to this tv and it worked fine too, the problem is the built-in plex application on tv and it needs updating from plex developers.

As far as I know, the recent Hisense software updates have included the Plex app and the ability to log into Plex.
Maybe check that you TV is set to automatically update it’s software.
And while you’re there, do manual update.

In addition to checking that you have the latest version, which version are you currently running (there may be two version numbers, software and extended, both are helpful).

Keep in mind that different Hisense models have different software version numbers.
