Hisense 65Q8 - Plex app has disappeared

Well, well. I just got a Hisense TV firmware update and PLEX is back.

Hisense has confirmed this is the fix, they’re rolling out a firmware update over several weeks to improve support for the Plex app. The good news is once the firmware update is available you’ll get the Plex app back, the bad news is it’ll be missing before the update is applied.

We don’t have an timeline when these updates will be fully rolled out at this time.

Still nothing in Melbourne

As Markus said, Hisense told Plex that they will roll out the firmware update over a few weeks.
I think each model will be updated in turn - not regions (I might be wrong).
I guess we just have to check daily and be patient. :wink:

Just went to use Plex and it can’t find my server, and the “Sign In” button does nothing.
I tried to manually add the IP address (I assume this is my router’s address, not my PC’s address).
But this didn’t help.
Plex also can’t see my mate’s server (we watch each other’s movies a lot).
I have just installed the latest Plex media server, but that didn’t help either.

Any ideas?

Yes mine is doing the same the app is now back but it cant connect to my server I went through all the trouble shooting and still nothing it says “Your device requires secure connections yet something is interfering Under Setting > Server > Network in the Plex Web app” 65Q8 Brisbane, QLD

mine as well now TV will not connect to server tried everything -Brisbane

Last night I realised that on the TV I could “Sign Out”, and then “Sign In”.
This generates a new 4 letter code which I could enter in the Plex Server.
But still didn’t make any difference.
i.e. the App and Server still can’t see each other.

My Hisense just updated and so did the Plex app. It has fixed the “cannot connect to server problem”

Hi i have a friend who has a Hisense that stopped working with Plex a couple days ago , just before not working i noticed they were using a great amount of bandwidth 14mbs , I disallowed downloads incase that was a reason but since then Plex won’t work for them , they have hooked it up through there playstaion and its working fine . They say they have updated there TV and reinstalled Plex , were in Australia

Did anyone find a fix? I have the app back on my tv but can’t connect to my server.

Have tried everything but no luck.

Same with me.
I have had the app back on my Hisense for a few weeks now, and although I’ve repeatedly tried, I can’t connect to my server or any outside server.
I’ve even tried signing out, then signing back in again, but still no connection.

Markus said that Hisense told him they would correct the Hisense software “in the next few weeks”.
But only Hisense know what they mean by “a few weeks”. :roll_eyes:
Hopefully Markus will keep hounding them.

My TV updated a couple of minutes ago and FINALLY! It works!

We also now have Disney!

What model Hisense do you guys have?
I gathered from Markus that Hisense were updating on a model by model basis over several weeks.
Just checked mine (65Q8) but no luck.

Also how do you know your TV is updating it’s software?

I have 65U8QF i guess its the same model.
My region is the middle east.

I have been using this work around till my tv got updated Hisense 65U8QF Smart TV , Plex cannot be found anywhere
