Home movies won't play

Hi there everyone,

Issue: Playback of other than movie- or tv-show-files

  • ATV3 (IP: 10.0.1.4)
  • ATV FW: 5.2.1 (6025)
  • DNS server on ATV: 10.0.1.6
  • PlexConnect installed on: Mac mini (mid 2011 / Macmini5,2), i7 2.7 GHz, AMD Radeon HD 6630M 256 MB +++ Mac OS X 10.8.3 (12D78)
  • local IP of PlexConnect: 10.0.1.6
  • PlexMediaServer (PMS) installed on same device as PlexConnect (i.e. same hardware and IP-address)
  • Media stored on: Synology DiskStation 211j, IP-address: 10.0.1.5
  • PlexConnect version: Github build - June 1st, 2013

  • Issue description: In addition to the folders for movies and tv-shows, I created two more folders for home-movies and other video-files. They’re namened “meine Filme” (for home-movies) and “Diverses” (for other files). None of the movie files in these folders will play. I can see them and select them, but when I hit “play” the message “Trailer is unavailable.” comes up on the screen.

Home movie sections are not supported at the moment.

I will update the FAQ/wiki to that effect.
