I know it sounds a little strange but …
I have remote user that when they add a TV show to record live TV on DVR it ends up overwriting my downloaded show if it happens to be the same show. Can I separate the DVR recording by default not to be my downloaded TV shows directory??
I don’t want to have to tell my users to go thru all my downloaded tv shows first before recording on the DVR.

I am not sure if the following is viable on QNAP:
Remove the “write” privilege for Plex from the folder where the downloaded items are.
Create a second folder with “write” privileges and either add it additionally to your tv show library or (IMHO better) create a dedicated library just for DVR’d stuff.
(You will need to do the same with a second “DVR” folder if you also want to record “movie”-type broadcasts, as they can only be stored in a Movies-type of library.)
I have separate libraries for downloaded shows vs recorded to avoid this issue. However you need to make sure when the recordings are created that the files are stored in the correct library.
