Nevermind. The issue was an old version of Plex. It kept wanting to download 1.5.2 but I cleared my cache and tried again and it offered me 1.7.2. For the OP, you must be running 1.7.2+ for a USB tuner to work.
I have plexPass. If I download from plex.tv, I get 1.5.6. How do I get 1.7.2+?
NVM: I figured it out. Go to Settings, scroll down to Update Channels button and change from Public to PlexPass. Check Updates changes instantly to newest version
I get “no channels” with Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-955Q on Windows 10. I rebooted my PC several times, and still nothing. Installing the WinTV 8 from Hauppauge does work, but not in Plex. Can someone help how should I troubleshoot? I am getting the content from Comcast Xfinity TV - just a basic television and I have a IR blaster for the media PC to issue IR signals to the set-top box.
@DaveBinM I tried doing it, and even reinstalled my Win10 to start fresh. Still no channels are discovered. The Windows MCE was exceptional at the TV recordings and I couldn’t stay with Win7 any more (MCE doesn’t work on Win10).
I would appreciate if you can at least point me to find where the problem is with Plex & Hauppauge/Comcast.
@DaveBinM - Thank you for offering help. Attached are the server logs (Settings->Help). The Plex.txt in C:\Users\Media\AppData\Local\Packages\CAF9E577.Plex_aam28m9va5cke\LocalState\Logs did not get any updates during this scan and I am not attaching it (I truncated the file before starting the scan, and it didn’t get any new lines).

I’m actually have the same exact issue. Any movement on this?
@WudanBal - No movement, and no help. The particular Hauppauge mode WinTV-HVR-955Q doesn’t seem to be supported in spite of the Plex documentation saying that it is a supported model. Plex TV was a major disappointment since I can’t get to use the feature.
@DaveBinM - Thanks for the response. No other process was using the tuner at that time. I also made sure that the Comcast unit is running at the time of the scan.
I have the same issue…I am in Canada however. I am trying to get plex to recognize the Rogers set top box. Using the Hauppage hvr955q. it has a antenna/cable option and a composite rca option…it isn’t finding the composite signal if that makes sense.
