I just noticed that plex has access to my hidden folders and files and is now placing them in the libraries accordingly. is there any way I can prevent plex from seeing the aforementioned files or, better yet, an option that will disallow plex for reading any of my hidden directories?
Note: im very new to plex so please respond accordingly (as in give me step-by-step instructions)
Your can use .plexignore
Also… Sounds like yoir folder has been placed so it is visible to plex… Check your library definitions. If your ad folder is a subdirectry of a plex library folder then it will be discovered unless you use .plexignore

Look up plexignore on google.
As to your libraries… You set that up when you installed plex
