In the old android add, I could long press the library in the left hand menu, and then scan. There’s no left hand menu anymore, and if I long press the library my phone just vibrates. How do I force a scan, instead of waiting until the Server does the next scheduled scan?
You don’t, yet. It’s been announced that the feature will be coming to the new app, however:

Uninstall the Plex app from your device, and download and install the appropriate APK from the official announcement thread:

Thanks. I get that companies want to progress apps, but now that I read the post about the features the new app is missing, it definitely has a vibe of that it was released about 6 months too early.
Its initial release definitely would have benefited from a little more time in the oven.
