I live in Canada and receive both CDN and US channels. When load the programming guide I see info for all the CDN channels but none of the US. Have I missed a config option?
I’m in the Toronto area, and am seeing both US and Canadian channels in the guide. If you put your ZIP code in at Zap2It.com guide listings are you seeing both? I believe that the guide source for Plex is the same as Zap2It.
Hi pnear. I figured from what you said that you’re in NY State so I tried entering a Lewiston ZIP code rather than my CDN Postal Code, and it looks good… that has picked up both the US and the CDN listings.
Thank you
Actually, no I am using my postal code from Milton, Ontario and it does indeed work. That said, I’ve submitted a few requests over the years to fix up the guide so I might have a cleaner guide here than in other places. The Lewiston hack will work for you, but do check out your postal code on Zap2It and if there are any channels missing submit a feedback request. They do tend to be fairly responsive to those requests, and it will fix the guide for everyone using the GraceNote service (like Plex).
Thank you neighbour (I’m in Georgetown I will do as you suggest.
@F1Andy123 I’m in Georgetown as well, would like to change my postal code to somewhere that has listings for both US and CA, but don’t see how to actually change this setting? Do I have remove and re-configure the DVR for it to work?
My postal code in Milton is L9T4X7, probably a good one to use for you guys as well.
Quick update: I just deleted the dvr in Plex and re-added it with a Milton postal code (confirmed via zap2it.com to have the US channels I can access with my antenna), however after the program guide refreshed I still don’t see the US channel listings, any ideas what I missed here?
@pnear wow! yep, that postal did the trick, I had tried a different one for a friend in Milton and it definitely didn’t work even though it appeared to over at zap2it.com. Thanks for sharing (and promise not to be creepy )
@wally_lawless I wonder if maybe the HDHomerun native setup has any impact (ie outside of Plex). I run the Windows drivers as well, which updates firmware and does a channel scan using my postal code. Maybe the HDHR is only reporting to Plex the channels it knows about?
FWIW… I was having similar issues with my Burlington Postal Code (L7M 3B6)
Doing a comparison using your Milton Postal vs my Burlington postal… It worked better for me using the Milton Postal.
Gotta say… this sucks, if it wasn’t for these forums (and something that will affect the average user) I would never have clued into this.
D.
I have the same problem for Montreal. If I use a postal code from Montreal, I don’t get some US channels and the same for VT zip codes. Any suggestion of a zip or postal code that would show all channels available?

I found my answer, you can use postal code H1E2S4 for Montreal. All US and Canadian channels that you can get in Montreal are covered.
It’s an old post but it save me lot of time today.
