How do we now split episodes apart?!

Hi, I am trying to split some episodes apart. My plex server lists 55 duplicate episodes but when i check them they are two different shows merged into one. Plex does not give me any option to seperate them nor does it display, like it does movies, with the number in the corner.

My naming convention is from FileBot, like so:

… but the individual episode has no menu item to seperate the episode:

The show has no option to seperate either.

I am using the latest version of plex on windows 10. I have tried using plex web on both mac (safari) and windows (chrome) and neither show the seperate option.

Thanks

You can not split at the episode or season level, only at the show level

Awesome, i assumed it’d be like movies and just on the item needing split apart. Thanks for the rapid reply! :raised_hands:t2:

The issue is that both of your files are marked as Season 1, Episode 1.
You might want to look up the proper episode numbers The Planets (2017) - Aired Order - Season 1 - TheTVDB.com
and change the file names accordingly.

And please use the Plex format, not the Kodi format which is not guaranteed to work (although in most cases it does anyway). Naming and Organizing Your TV Show Files | Plex Support

That wasn’t the issue, the may both end with “Episode 1” but both have different show names and folder names… thanks though.

Try removing the Show Name from your season folder and use double digit season numbers.

Oh, I totally missed that!
Then the issue is that you are not at the show’s top level. (Your screen shot still shows “Season 1”, which is a clear sign.)
Click on the show title. This should bring you to the topmost level and the “Split” command should be available there.
