So currently I only have 4 households accessing my plex server. I have an hdhomerun connect which is dual tuner coming in today. Does that mean only two instances of plex can access live tv at one time? Trying to understand the process before i start set up tonight.
How many duplicate posts can you make at the same time?

I would assume you could have 1 client accessing it per tuner.
What I do NOT know, is if you can have multiple clients per tuner assuming they all watch the same source/channel. Theoretically, that would work as it’s transcode-based and the server is doing the magic, but I don’t have any supported clients to test this out with until they add support for either Roku, Android (non-TV) or Plex Web.
the way it works for me atleast as I have seen with a single xbox one usb tuner is you don’t actually watch a live stream, it records it into a cache folder, and once done puts it in your library in the show folder structure, and then refreshes it, so once it shows up in your library you are limited to the power of your pc and if the tuner is recording other things that will take system resources as well.

Unless the other households have your Admin account information they won’t be able to access the Program Guide/Live TV. Unless I have missed an announcement this feature has not been added for other users at this point. If I sign in with my Admin account on my iPhone I can see the Program Guide and Recording Schedule. If I login as a non Admin user I do not see the Program Guide or Recording Schedule.
That’s my experience. Live TV is not available for added users
ok so 2 of the households are added users so that answers my question for them. 1 user does have my admin credentials (basically he acts as a backup admin i fully trust). Since we are both logged in as admin can we both see live tv on our iphones?
You can view or record as many streams as the number of tuners you have. You said you are getting a dual tuner, so you can have 2 streams.
