Hi, I noticed that a just added and reasonably new movie, is listed as part of a collection, but none of the other movies in the series is listed as part of the collection.
This is the first time I ever noticed a movie being added as part of a collection, where does the collection metadata come from?
I am assuming the data comes from TMDB:
And I can see that all movies in the collection, are listed as part of the collection:
But, only the just added movie shows up in the collection.
I did a refresh metadata on the other movies, and they are not showing up in the collection.
My media scanner is set to Plex Movie, I verified the settings is set to use collection information from TMDB.
How do I get collection information added to existing titles?
Try doing the ‘Plex Dance’ on one of the movies and see if the Collection info gets added. I’m guessing that it will.
Plex has a long-standing problem where the ‘Refresh’ command simply doesn’t do what it’s supposed to. It’s been around so long that the workaround has acquired a name, the ‘Plex Dance.’ They keep telling us they’re working on a solution, but we’ve had no sign of progress.
I did the dance for one movie, that worked.
I already tried to refreshing metadata for a single movie does not work, but a refresh all metadata for the entire library does work.
I verified that all my maintenance tasks are checked, but it seems that a manual library refresh is still required.
