How to connect to server settings

Server Version#:4.157.0
Player Version#:
I can connect to my Plex database and see my libraries in the left panel but not the server admin mode. Is this the client view? I want to see the server view. I entered http://127.0.0.1:32400/web has something changed? I don’t see the gear. I have a wrench. Does this indicate something went wrong with my reinstall of PMS?

You are supposed to see a wrench.

Click it.

You will see your account settings, then settings for Plex Web.

Below the Plex Web section you should see your server name, with sections for Status, Setttings, etc.

Example:

I see the server name with a little pull down arrow but when I click it I see an orange check mark and green lock. That’s it.

You do not need to click on the server name.

Look at the screenshot I added to my first reply.

Do you see the Status, etc settings below the server name?

Ok. Yes I do see that. Someone told me when you click on that little arrow it will show more server settings.

I was also told, after a PMS reinstall, you should have a preference.xml file in your PMS folder which i don’t. I just want to make sure my reinstall was correctly completed .

No.

There is a Show Advanced / Hide Advanced button. It is on the right hand side of the window, near the top.

Only on Linux systems.

On Windows, the information is stored in the Windows registry. On Macs it is stored in a .plist file.

It stores various server settings, such as the port number used for remote access. Unless troubleshooting a problem, there is rarely a need to edit the settings in the registry / preferences.xml / plist file.

Example: Show / Hide Advanced

Ok. Thank you.

Just curious, what are the numbers/letters after the version numbers 4.157.0 on your screenshot

It is just part of the Plex Web version number. AFAIK it has no significance.

The same applies to Plex Media Server version numbers, ex: 1.42.2.10156-f737b826c.
