How to correct Master List, TV Episode name

What about the .nfo importer agent I was asking about? Do you have them installed?

When you perform the Plex Dance, are you doing it correctly? All steps in the right order?

Looks like plex has not downloaded the metadata fully yet.
I get this from time-to-time. I think I have three siting on the deck right now in the “recently added” section but not recently aired(not yet populated as with the title)

Awesome. So many thanks for all of your help. After about 2 days of work, I think I have all of my issues resolved.

I know I’ve done that in the past, but this time it worked. One thing I did different this time, is after cleaning bundles, I rebooted my server. is it possible that is necessary? I just did the plex dance on several of these series before I opened this ticket. So between then and now, something has cleared up that allowed these titles to get corrected.

I wrote a query to query the database and find all TV media with no titles, and there was well over 1,000 earlier this week. Every single series that was in that result, I moved out of plex, and did the plex dance.
After reloading everything, all of my titles are back. That same query the was returning over 1,000 titles that were wrong, now indicates that everything is good.

Thank you so much for your help, there were so many issues we had. Between bad names on TVDB, people going into TVDB renaming episodes in between me checking on things, oddities in season naming on TVDB (Mythbusters), Episodes not yet in TVDB, all types of issues. This one ticket turned out to be an accumulation of about 7 different issues.
I never did find a single media element with Meta Data, so not sure where some of those odd names came from. But at any rate, after going through all of these exercises, the names are now correct.

I never had to remove any media meta data, nor did I have to rename a single file (or folder) in this whole process. So I did have all of my setup correct. Somehow things just got way out of kilter.

No, I am pretty certain that this is not the case.

Nonetheless, I recommend you to stick to the recommended naming schema, going forward. And with tv shows, particularly to folder structure.

I always do use the correct naming standard, the one exception was Mythbusters. I was confused on what to do with that one since they used year as their season number.

That wasn’t always the case. At one time it was Season 01,02,03,etc… It got changed about the same time the “new” series came out.
