How to disable secure connection required?

Server Version#: 1.13.4.5271-200287a06
Player Version#: ?

Hello there,

I have mistakenly enabled the secure connection settings to “Required” in Plex and now my NAS (DS216 Synology) won’t connect anymore (can’t find server, looking indefinitely). I can’t even reach the PMS when using the IP and port for Plex.

When using HTTPS and by-passing the security notice, I can see the Plex page loading, but I can’t change the server settings because it’s unreachable.

How can I disable this settings?

Note: The reason why I played with this setting is because I cannot see my library on my Android device although remote connection seems to be properly configured.

Thank you!

Make a backup of the Preferences.xml file located in the directory Library/Plex Media Server

Then change the setting named secureConnections="0" to either 1 or 2
1 = Preferred
2 = Disabled

After that, restart your PMS

To find the Library directory, see Q7 of the Synology FAQ

Thank you @dane22! Worked like a charm.

Thought it would’ve been more complex than that to fix.

Really appreciate the help!
