Hello Plex Server is installed on my Synology NAS 420+

I changed recently of internet provider and now I can’t access my home librarys anymore.

When I go in DSM 7 and click on plex package I see it active the I click open
It goes to Plex okay but my libraries have gone

Edit: I managed to get my library back ! When going to Settings and making a scan from there of my librarys… if it can help someone else.

Thank again for the tips, maybe now could be a goodtime for me to do a library backup of some sort if you know a topic that shows how to do it on synology ?

Verify the Synology network settings are correct. The new Internet provider may use a different addressing scheme than the previous ISP.

  • IP address and netmask
  • Default gateway
  • DNS - Suggest using a public DNS such as 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare), 9.9.9.9 (Quad9), or 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 (Google).

Verify the NAS syncs with a public NTP server. The system time must be correct for Plex to correctly function.

  • Control Panel → Regional Settings → Time
  • Select Synchronize with NTP Server, Choose a public NTP server, & click Update Now.
  • You should see a “successfully synchronized” message and Status should be Normal

If you changed network settings or time settings, restart the NAS.

Point a private/incognito browser window at the IP address of the NAS. For example, if the IP address is 10.1.2.3, use http://10.1.2.3:32400/web. Use http, not https. Use the IP address of the NAS. Do not click the Open button in Package Center, use QuickConnect, etc.

Can you login, access settings (wrench icon), and see your server settings?

If yes, make sure the server is claimed (assigned to your account), in Settings → Server_Name → General. Claim the server if necessary, and you should be good to go.

If you still cannot access the server:

Uninstall Plex Media Server. After the “are you sure” screen, choose the Uninstall Only (first) option, to keep existing server settings. Screenshot below.

Reinstall the same version of Plex Media Server. Choose the Plex Claim Token option (screenshot below). Click Get Plex Claim Token to generate the token and copy/paste it into the Claim Token box. If successful, you will see a “server successfully claimed by…” message.

Point a incognito/private browser window at the IP address of the NAS. You should be able to login and access server settings.
