Server/library section disappeared…

Server Version#: 1.41.1.9057-70009057
Player Version#: Web: 4.138.0, Mac 1.103.1
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

Since yesterday, I’m experiencing the weirdest issue.
I haven’t changed a thing in my setup, but all the sudden, my library altogether disappeared from the Mac and Web app. The library/server section is not even visible in my settings.
It also disappeared from the AppleTV app, but it just came back on its own there!!
The data is hosted on a Synology. It’s still visible and accessible there. I can also play the videos directly over the LAN. The firewall is not blocking the required ports for Plex (which, once again, I haven’t changed lately).
I can connect directly on the LAN to the IP of the Synology on port 32400, but there again, the web app doesn’t show my library at all.
I restarted the router (in case it was a firewall/DHCP glitch), the Synology, the Plex package itself…

I can’t seem to figure out what might have triggered the issue. It could be the PMS update (although I haven’t seen a wave of similar reports out there). I can’t figure out why only the AppleTV app stills sees the media library.
I looked at somewhat similar reports in the past, but none of the solutions seem to apply to me.
I can’t even provide logs since the server section is altogether missing.

Sync the NAS with a public NTP server. This verifies the time is correct and the NAS can communicate with the Internet.

Synology Control Panel → Regional Options → Time tab → Synchronize with NTP server.

Point a browser at the IP address of the NAS: https://nas_ip_addr:32400/identity.

You should see a line of XML with claimed=0 or claimed=1.

If claimed=0, then the server is unclaimed. Follow FAQ 31: Reset / Reclaim PMS on DSM 7 (Not Authorized - Locked Out).

If claimed=1: Provide a set of server log files

  1. Stop Plex Media Server and wait 1 minute.
  2. Start Plex Media Server (to log the startup)
  3. Wait 3 minutes for Plex to fully start and log the startup sequence.
  4. Stop Plex Media Server
  5. Using File Station, navigate to the Plex Data Folder. Right click on the Logs directory and choose to compress to logs.zip.
  6. Download the zip file and post it to the thread.

Thank you so much for your help @FordGuy61! That pointed me in the right direction.

I didn’t know where to find the logs if not through the app, so that was a precious help!

I examined the logs before uploading them here and it was full of warnings like (6, Couldn’t resolve host name) (Could not resolve host: plex.tv).

That immediately pushed me to examine a potential DNS issue and, sure enough, after I tweaked my DNS settings then properly relaunched the PMS package on the Synology, it started working everywhere again.

I clearly don’t understand how and why it was working still on the AppleTV, but at this point it doesn’t matter

Thanks again!
