How to enable Quicksync hardware transcoding on Mac PMS?

hi All,

We have a 2012 Mac Mini 2.6Ghz i7 running as a PMS.
The i7 cpu should have intel quicksync, and has the option for hw transcoding.
but still i cannot enable it on the pms.
The CPU within this mac Mini should be compatible as plex state here on this article i found :

Is the check box not there or greyed out? (You have to hit the show advanced button to see it)

I have the same machine and it works fine. Enable it as described

Note at the top of the article:

Tip! : Hardware-accelerated streaming is a premium feature and requires an active Plex Pass subscription.

Your username does not have “Plex Pass” beside it, so it looks like you do not have the necessary permissions. You can purchase a Plex Pass on a monthly basis if you wish to try the feature. If it does not meet your needs, you can cancel and you’re only out ~$5 USD.

There are other MacOS limitations mentioned in the article:

  • Encode only, no accelerated decoding
  • Only one accelerated transcode at a time
  • 480p or higher only
