How to 'fix match' on specials (Season 00) episodes

I am running into issues with the Plex Agent not identifying the correct episodes for specials/season 0 content on some of my shows.

I think it is related to the new agent, as I am only seeing this on a second server I build after the Plex Agent ‘upgrade’ or changeup or whatever it was.

An example is:

Series: Mobile Suit Gundam - The 08th MS Team
S00E01 - Miller’s Report
S00E02 - Battle in Three Dimensions

On my old server, where this content was matched when the agent was just using TheTVDB, this has the correct metadata, because TheTVDB has the correct entries:

But on the new server, it matches incorrectly:

If I search for the show on watch.plex.tv, the specials only has 1 episode, and is what both of these episodes match to:

Is the right way to fix this - if I prefer to go with TheTVDB info - to change the Agent and Episode Ordering to TheTVDB? Because when I do that, I get the annoying ‘Upgrade Library’ prompt which is why I finally gave in and switched to the Plex Agent after months of being bugged about it.

If you’re naming your episodes according to their order on TheTVDB, make sure to set the library episode ordering to TheTVDb. Alternatively you can also override this with more specific options per show (:pencil2: > Advanced > Episode ordering).

This will not change the entire metadata – just the order (e.g. which file is supposed to be which episode).

Thank you. I tried changing the Agent to TheTVDB (which actually removed the episode ordering option) and it did work but the dreaded ‘Upgrade your libraries’ popup came back.

I changed it all back to Plex TV Series and then changed the episode ordering like you said, and that fixed it.

So my question is - the reason I thought I would need to change the whole agent to begin with is that TheTVDB has 10 or 15 special episodes listed, including the 2 I have.

The Plex Agent ‘source’ - at least if going by the plex.watch.tv listing for it, only has a single episode, which is wrong.

So if using the Plex TV Series agent and that source doesn’t have the metadata for the episodes in question, how does correcting the episode ordering get the right metadata?

I wasn’t sure if in this case it ended up with the right metadata because I switched everything to the TVDB and downloaded the right metadata, then switched it back?
