How to force Plex to only use the meta data in my MP4 Movies and TV

I am new to Plex, and I would like it to only use the data in the MP4. I already clean and maintain my files, and Plex gets files wrong all the time. How can I force it to only use my metadata?

  1. Follow Plex naming and organization requirements.

  2. Edit the library → Advanced → Prefer Local Metadata

You must still follow Plex naming and organization requirements. Preferring embedded metadata is not a license to name/organize however you wish.
