So I have my stuff in my google drive categorized like horror, 80s movies ext
Then Tv shows are like Network tv, Streaming app tv, Cable tv, Classic tv ext
But for some reason my Plex just lists all movies then I have tv shows going down the side bar.
Plex doesn’t use/recognise genre folders. However, you could create a distinct library for every genre by adding movies\horror folder to the respective library instead of just movies\.
Recently Moved ALL 28 of my Genre Libraries into one huge library - 'cause Plex is designed to work with ONE Library.
I now use Genre Collections instead:

Plex won’t work with your folder structure, won’t work well with multiple libraries and you can fight it - or you can do something else.
I do have one library. But you have 70s 80s movies in that pic there.

Yes - Collections (with hundreds of movies/shows in some of them).
It’s a way - that works - of having Genre Separations - or any other kind of separation. All still in one library, but you don’t have to drill for Westerns (31 clicks on my Roku) - you just click and enter the Western Collection with 1 click (on my Roku).
You can see the obvious advantages… I did.
It’s kinda messy - I’m upgrading/creating/finding posters and artwork for the Collections and trying to settle on some ‘theme’… work in progress for the moment, but I’m getting there…

Pardon my edit, but this looks WAY better than a blank folder poster that half-works - and is worth the bit of time it takes to put it together… in my opinion:
the poster and the background came from the site linked (I think - there or Google Images) - and happy to have them too!

The ‘7’ Collection isn’t currently in the Westerns Collection - 'cause you can’t do that, but I have it ‘Out Front’ on the main movie page for now, ‘Featured’, if you will. In a few seconds I can put those movies back into ‘Westerns’ - their Sort Title set so they Display one after the other, side-by-side - like this in ‘Sci-Fi Sets’:
Easy to move and feature things now and then when time permits (don’t know when that is, but you know…lol).
So I need to take all my TV shows I have each season in a folder hierarchy sell burn notice and then season one and a folder season two of the folder etc. so do I need to just put them all together
No, for Shows you just put the show in a Collection - done:
You must maintain folder/file naming and structure for Plex, but you can put entire shows in Collections easily and quickly. Mix/Match/Feature.
Also - name Movie Collections and Show Collections the same - and this happens - for one of the ONLY ways to get Shows and Movies in the same Tour Bus:

And, finally - when I abandoned the 28 Genre Library Approach (got tired of fighting Plex day in, day out) I had a plan for my storage that made sense to me. I didn’t change that:
All those Library Folders mean nothing to Plex - other than ‘that’s where they are’.
I’m used to ‘my method’ - it scatters things out across 6 HDDs in smaller groupings - are easier to move about when necessary - and like not standing in groups when in Hand Grenade Country - don’t all get blown up should something awful happen.
The former ‘Libraries’ are now ‘Collections’.
A bit of a brain teaser until you get used to it, but there it is.
For some time, I have had two TV libraries (comedy vs drama), and about 5 or 6 movie libraries (comedy, action, drama, sci fi and so on). What problems should I anticipate perhaps?
