When setting up a DVR, I am prompted to select a TV package by zip code yet there is not a selectable package that includes all of my channels. In the past I simply selected the largest package shown, even though it was not my TV provider and mapped the channels. But my channel set has changed and this method no longer works.
It seems Plex is hardwired for One Live TV device = One Known/Predefined Channel package, without any flexibility to change.
If Plex allowed channels to be chosen from multiple providers/packages, this problem would be resolved. But if I change the package, Plex wipes out all existing mappings. Is there any way around this limitation?
If Plex allowed multiple DVRs to be configured for one device, then I could add a DVR for each provider/package as required to get my full mapping. But Plex only allows me to map my HD Homerun one time. Is there any way around this limitation?
Unfortunately, Plex currently only allows “one zipcode” / EPG lineup at a time. Allowing for multiple EPG lineups is a popular request, you can vote for it here: Multiple epg sources, for those with multiple tuners

I noticed in my area satellite packages appear to be split, with national in one lineup and local channels in another. If this split is common for satellite, I wonder how the channels could be mapped in Plex - this limit would seem to be a show-stopper - one would either have to map the national set or local set.
I looked into using xmltv and immediately closed that can of worms. The page you linked could stand some improvement - it does not clearly differentiate between channel lineups and program guide listings. I have no issue with program guide listings, my only issue is that the channel lineup in Plex is incorrect.
Does the EPG data model not have a channel identifier that is independent of a provider’s lineup? For example, we all know that ESPN2HD has the same program listings no matter how it is provided - why is EPG data not available for ESPN2HD itself?
