How do I update my library from my iPhone?
I only use Plex cloud.
I can’t see an update or scan library option.
I changed the file name of a track in Dropbox from my phone. It changed instantly on my laptop but Plex still doesn’t see the file name change (been over 30minutes).
You need to open the web app, you can do so on your mobile browser. Once done, you can access your new library from any app.
Also, you don’t need to open three subjects all asking the same question.
I don’t know how forums work. I am use to chat support. not this weird system.
Sorry I am going to ask a lot
and Ok. Disappointing you can’t do that wit the app.
Forums have been around for a long time… Read this to familiarize yourself with them

All jokes aside, you might want to group similar questions together and ask things politely… Remember the saying that involves flies, and honey, and all that.
This is not a good way to keep customers
I really hate this form of “support”
Do you work for Plex?
How do I know if a reply comes from a legit employee or just a random user?
Plex employees hardly ever come in to answer anything, so it’s safe to assume no one who has answered you works for them. You’re paying for the software, not support. That is why it’s prudent for you to be nice, because most participants here don’t feel like replying to rude people.
If you want to learn, fine, ask away, you’re in fine company. If all you want to do is mouth off, go find yourself a neighborhood kid and pay him to help you get set up properly.
That sucks. A lot. Enough for me to keep looking for an alternative service since I only bought 1month.
They did a good job of making me think they were bigger than they are.
Without real support I cannot ever actually recommend this software to anyone.
If you look next to display name, you will see number of posts and then Plex Pass, in which at least everyone that posts here should have at least Plex Pass. I’ve seen some with Plex Ninja and others. I don’t recall what an actual Plex employee would show, but per_PLEX_ed is correct. Plex Media Server is free. You don’t have to subscribe to use it on your local, in-home network. But if you want to be able to watch your media remotely, or want all the bells and whistles, or access to early releases then yes, you need to have a Plex Pass. I like Plex’s model. It means that instead of waiting for one of many programmers and contributors to chime in, there are thousand’s, if not tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of Plex users that may have experienced the issue I am having already and they may have a solution for me thus leaving the Plex programmers and such banging out code for the next fix and/or release.
Plex has a strong presence in the community forums and chances are someone that is browsing the forums has come across an issue you may be experiencing. However, if it is not a feature that Plex currently has or you do not like the certain way Plex does things, there is a Features Request section that the community can suggest new features (please read the threads at the top that recommend the way to suggest something and the way to “vote” on something that has already been suggested) that the programmers may try to add in future releases. Take in mind that due to actual programming restraints, legal reasons, ridiculousness of request, number of people expressing interest, etc., the request may or may not get added in future releases or even how soon requests are added into Plex.
You may not have much experience in this type of support forum but many Fortune 500 companies have and use this model. The community provides most of the support. Take a look at Cisco. You can buy their hardware. You get limited support. The community provides most of the support; Google is handy. If you need in depth help with hardware replacement or configuration, you will need a service contract which you will pay for, believe me. My employer uses Cisco gear and they pay for a service contract (I don’t even want to imagine the costs) and someone will chat, video chat, and if necessary, they will send someone to your location to assist you, deliver hardware replacement within 4 hours, etc. (Again, I don’t want to imagine the cost).
Please be aware of your tone of the way you type. Yes, there is such a thing, it’s called etiquette. We cannot see the inflections, the subtle gestures, your facial features, hand gestures, etc. We can’t see if you are chortling, guffawing, snickering, surprised, astonished, being pissy or just being a plain ass. We can only read what you type; the way you type it.
