I access media on my QNAP NAS only with the PLEX app on my Samsung series 5 TV, which is connected to my NAS with an HDMI cable. MY NAS is set to allow ALL CONNECTIONS. Internet access here is unreliable. How can I watch my media without an internet connection?

Thank you. I read through these tips before I posted. None seem to apply to my setup, NAS to TV via HDMI. I have been using this setup for years and its great when the internet works.
Same ground rules apply… there’s always a client and server when it comes to Plex – even if they’re on the same device – and the client does have those dependencies (or prerequisites/workarounds as described in the post)
OK. I’ll keep trying.
AFAIK, there was only a very old and long-deprecated Plex client app for the QNAP platform. I don’t think this will work with current server versions.
To my knowledge, even QNAP has long since removed this app from their app store.
In other words, a QNAP NAS can only be used as a Plex server, but not as a Plex client. Which means the HDMI connection to the TV is useless for Plex.
That’s very interesting. I’ll test and let you know.
