Do a fresh install with the latest source code and make sure you follow the latest wiki guide. Apple changed trailers to SSL a while ago so some older versions might not work.
do you know where i can find latest wiki guide and source ? i'ts been a while for me....

...as well as in f00b4r's signature. Or in mine. Links and links and links...
updated everything but still error
we failed to reach a server, reason unauthorized
Well then. Is it "unauthorized"? In PMS, did you check "require authorization"?

it is working now but i have to fill in in plexconnect on the atv everytime my username and password, after then it will show my libary.
i don't want to do this everytime i log on. How can i change this ?
Shutdown PlexConnect cleanly using CTRL-C to create settings.cfg and save your settings.

CTRL-C in the terminal where PlexConnect.py is running.
Depending on the installation (eg. OSX launchctl) you might have to do other steps to do a proper shutdown.
Can maybe someone explain a little easier for a noob like me what the “PMS” is, and what exactly do i have to set? I set the IP to 127.0.0.1 just like the website said, but it still requires me to enter my pin to watch, and even if i disabl that i still get the 401 error. I wanna watch on my Apple TV again how do i do taht.
Installed PlexConnect around 5 days ago, everything was working until i bought the PlexPass and set up an ID for my User Account because there is more than one user on my db now.
PMS is short for PlexMediaServer.
PlexPass/ID: Did you enter that ID in to PlexConnect/Settings? Because if done so, PlexConnect will invoke a different discovery strategy, pulling your own/shared server information from plex.tv. This in turn also allows both your PMS and aTV/PlexConnect to use encryption while communicating.
Did you publish your server? Is your router set up to allow rebinding to local hosts?
Also, as I don’t see anything related to the initial post (Jan14), I would suggest to open a new thread detailing your issue next time.

How do I start up Plex connect so that the python console shows?

Does the PMS absolutely have to be published to the Internet for it to work with Plex connect? Normally mine stays connected but sometimes I have to restart/republish the connection .
XweAponX:
Run in terminal:
Publish:
No… only when you want to be signed in to myPlex. At that point PlexGDM is switched off, connected PMSs are found via responds from plex.tv. And that one for sure only knows about “published” servers.
I am thinking about a fall back algorithm here, but have no good idea how to add it transparently.
OK so I just open a command window in the Plex connect folder, and type the PY file? The instructions say to “double click on the PY file”, that’s how I’ve been running it.
Can I install that as a task at boot via task manager, do I need to use “run as system” or can I just run it as a user or admin? (Edit) actually that’s what I just did, because the autostart did not work for me. It only starts Python. So i created a task pointing to the py file. Next time I reboot I’ll see if it works.
I’ve had it on all night and it hasn’t stopped yet, that was after I closed all of the “Idle” processes and restarted it by right clicking on the PY and selecting “open”.
The instructions infer that a double click on the PY will show a Python console, maybe that happens in XP through 8.0, but on windows 10 it only runs it in the background.
Anyway it’s still running, some of my MKV files won’t play, they play on my desktop through a browser. I’m trying to figure out why now, while downloading a bricked samgung s4 pda (2 hour process) and messing with the ATV. So I’ll check in later with what happened, I’m going to try to create a task. There are also some auto start instructions on the website, I’ll check that out too.
