I have noticed this in my logs when I press the refresh metadata option on the show:
it’s related to this.
Thanks for linking that for me.
While radical I’d recommend ditching tvdb and move over to tmdb for your shows. I moved about a year ago and would never move back.
Yes you’ll have some upfront work. Yes you will to need to fix up/rename some of your files as they can use a different naming order over at tmdb (strict aired date rule) but in the long run you’ll run into far less issues when compared to tvdb and their troublesome api’s.
in all my years using tvdb as source is super rare to have issues - IMHO that is.
I strictly use Plexs new metadata agents.
Same, before I switched to plexs
Yes but the ordering is controlled under the advanced settings of the library. You can control that there and use tvdb or tmdb, it’s up to you. I’m using tmdb and don’t have this problem with the same show you do.
that’s cool, but this has never happened before and i’ve been on tvdb for years.
I’m having the same issue and I’ve been using TMDB for months now.
Strange your having this issue. As you can see from below I’m not
with my library set to use tmdb for episode ordering …
Not sure why its not working for you but maybe you could upload logs.
Is this show matched at all?
Could you try using the “Match”/“Fix Match” option on the show and see if that works? There is a known issue where unmatched shows fail to match when running a refresh only (this is addressed in an upcoming patch).
The option I have is fix match. I select the correct show and it fixes nothing.
Could you please provide your server logs for me?
sure thing, here they are

Thanks,
This is related to the ongoing tvdb api issue: I am having issues getting DCs Legends of Tommorow to grab metadata - #2 by power
The error you posted in your first post got me curious but I see it’s from a single episode refresh.
I hope by next week this should all be sorted again, but will keep folks updated.
Hopefully, I thought that switching to the new plex agent was designed to avoid issues like this or just not use tvdb at all.
You can use The Movie Database instead as suggested and in fact it’s the default for new TV libraries.
Unfortunately the rollout of TVDB’s v4 api hasn’t been the smoothest and there are still quite a few rough edges.
When using the upgrade library process it does not automatically make this change for us?
just a couple.
