I cannot access my server with a browser but i can with the Plex app

@soupyfrood done you may need to restart your server computer server is on.

@hanslabyrinth1 does it work if you go to http://127.0.0.1:32400/web on your Synology or http://Localip:32400/web (where localip is whatever its LAN address is. I’m not sure why it would launch with your external IP but you could just bookmark one of those.

The second option works. I can access the flex page from a couple different ways, just not by clicking on the Plex Server icon in the Synology DSM. I will try and restart it tomorrow and see if that helps. Thanks for your help.

The plex software may be trying to us the quickconnect feature of synology. Bit of a nuisance

Just to let everyone know that the solution that worked for me was mapping a new port and forwarding it. (40000 in this case) then mapping it back to the original.

Yep, so I was connecting to the Synology DSM through quick connect. Once I changed that to my local IP address for the Synology then the Plex app worked. Thanks to everyone for your help.

Please could you reset mine too. Exactly the same issue.

@nzgrant @fangrock reset them both. may have to restart servers.

Thank you!!

Thanks, reloaded server and web portal still cant connect to my “Plex 10” server, either on the same network or remotely via the web browser, fire tv and IOS apps connect fine, anything else I could try?

@nzgrant so you are getting the “cannot connect to server securely” error? can you connect locally insecurely via http://LocalserverIP:32400/web? have you tried clearing cache/cookies/sitedata for app.plex.tv in browser?

@BigWheel Both if you wouldn’t mind :slight_smile:

@jjbrunton1 done both. you may have to restart them. The one that begins with the letter J does not seem to be reporting it’s local IP address which is odd. Does the private IP show in the remote access settings? Not sure if you have any custom network stuff going on.

hi @BigWheel looks like a similar issue for me. Can you reset “Shield” please?

big thanks.

@BigWheel I wonder if that’s the issue I’m having. Some clients are unable to connect to it, only the public IP address is shown in remote access.

@BigWheel I am experiencing similar issues. Remote client can’t connect using Safari in iOS. Rebooted router and server PC to no avail. Works everywhere else. Could I get a certificate reset?

@BigWheel Sorry to ping you --We have the same issue with one of our servers -all client apps work --and the backup server actually works with webApp-

our main server does not though–

could you please do a cert reset

Thanks in advance

I’m having the same problem with one of my servers (Shield Server).
