Tuner Make/Model: Win TV-dual tuner
Guide/Lineup name: Plex
Using XMLTV?: No idea
Channel number/Name: FOX and CBS
I just got a Plex Pass and just made my first recordings. My first recording has secondary audio. I have the audio from the show but I also have a commentary of what is happening. Why did I get this?
Plex is recording all audio tracks, if there are several contained in the broadcast.
You can select which to play.
I just found the recording from CBS showed the audio was Spanish even though it was in English. I was able to change that to English and the secondary descriptive audio went away. However, the recordings that were on FOX show that the audio is only Spanish Descriptive, but the audio is English. The actual talking on the show is in English and the descriptive part is in English too. On CBS I can change from Spanish Descriptive to English. On Fox, there is no option to change to English. It is very annoying having some taking telling me what I can see they are doing. Is there anything I can change to that this away? I have a Firestick and a Roku. I even play on my computer. ( OttoKernerPlex Ninja (Moderator)) I got this from Plex Media Player:
VIDEO
720p (H.264)
AUDIO
Spanish Descriptive (AC3 Stereo)
SUBTITLES
None
It was the broadcaster who put the language tags into the stream.
Plex cannot do anything about it, I’m afraid.
I am not sure I understand. When I recorded with the WinTV- 8 or 10 app I never had that problem? I had an analog-digital Hauppauge 950Q device before I bought the WinTV dual tuner, never had this happen till I used Plex to record. My question is if it was there before why did I never see this? Another question do I need to use a transcoder? I can set it to record with the WinTV-10 app but it looks like I have to convert the file so Plex can see it. I have not recorded NBC, ABC, or CW yet not sure if there is a problem there.
