I updated my server and player and now I cannot stay connected to my server. The only way I can connect to my server is that I have to open the server by clicking on the icon on my desktop, right click on the icon in the system tray, right click, and then click on Open Plex. Then the browser will open on Plex and my server is connected and my files are loaded. After a few minutes the server is lost again and I see a message saying either Unable to connect to my server securely or that the secure connections setting needs to be changed. My secure connections settings are set correctly. I wanted to add that after getting it connected again now this is the message I’m getting: The server “my server name” is unreachable. Make sure it’s running, double check your network, and try again.
I have the same problem as well… Then it wouldn’t load and I got a blank screen with the loading circle. So I ended up reinstalling plex again on my desktop to see if it would help and it made it worse because now I don’t have access to my desktop in plex. It says you are not authorized access to it. It seems that they are restricting us access to cast our own stuff now.
Neither Method 1 nor Method 2 worked. Method 1 let me reclaim my server but the server won’t stay open. Method 2 kept the server open for a couple days but then the server closed. When I checked the system tray the server was gone. From that point on whenever I reopened the server it would stay open for a few minutes then the server would close again. So now I have my server back but it won’t stay open. If I go open the website I get the not connected message so I can only access my server by opening the server through the start menu and clicking open Plex in the system tray.
Even though I don’t think it’ll work, based on the comments in the thread, I will try Method 2.2.
This sounds like PMS is crashing. Please provide your server logs after the next time you do this.
