Hello,
I hope this is the right section, if not please move it to the right one.
My normal setup for my movies is “Plex Movie Scanner”, “Freebase” and “German”, which works great.
The format of my Videorecords is like this “20120603 - title”.
Because of the date format plex can’t handle the files.
My idea is to have a scanner which ignore the first 11 letters.
Is this possible?
Cheers Thomas
What do you mean by “can’t handle the files” ? If it’s ignoring them, it may be because of the date, and if so, you can try using the Video FIles scanner instead which is less strict about naming.
Hi Elan,
sorry if my writing wasn’t clear enough, I’m a german user and try my best
Of course Plex will recognize the files, but it can’t find any metadata, because in the file title is the date and the “-” instead of the pure movie title.
Cheers Thomas
Ah, I understand now In general Plex does rely on certain naming conventions. If your files don’t follow the conventions, you can always write and install a custom scanner (see that forum for more details). The nice thing is that it’s possible!
