I'm completely lost!

Server Version#: 1.28.1.6401-7000
Player Version#: 4.84.1

Let me first say that logging out and changing my password was A HUGE MISTAKE! I would recommend that no one do this as now nothing seems to be working.

I have two Synology NAS running the same version of Plex. One stores TV shows, one movies.

After resetting my password as the data breech letter recommended I should, now nothing works.

Problem 1:
Movie server. This devices was not showing up at all so I followed the instructions given here:
Why am I locked out of Server Settings and how do I get in?

It now shows up in the list of devices on the left BUT I am stuck not being able to claim it.
Clicking on the “claim” button causes the wheel to spin but nothing is claimed and the page doesn’t change.

Note that to avoid confusion I have stopped the TV server so I am only dealing with one right now. Although it does appear in the list but with a danger icon next to it.

WHAT DO I DO TO FORCE A CLAIM? Searching for “cannot claim server” did not produce relevant results.

Update.

I saw the notification that there was an update, so I downloaded it and applied it.
No change.

Clicking the claim button seems to do nothing and server remains unclaimed.

Please help.

I second that. After claiming the server I have no plex pass assigned to it. Making it esentially unusable.

I was able to access server by using internal IP address. Does plex run on docker in your NAS? If so, maybe you need to use the internal address of the container to access it. You might have fun trying to figure out which VM has access to the same internal docker network.

My movie server remains unclaimed, for an unknown reason.

I am able to connect to it via Roku but here’s the catch that no one has mentioned,
GOING THROUGH THE LOG IN DANCE RESETS EVERYTHING.

On the computer and Roku that are kind-of working, I lost all the main screen customizations and was basically starting from scratch.

I suspect it will be that way on every device.

Still waiting on an expert to chime in on how to get the claim to go through.

I have same exact issue, Plex has so many issues!

So, I think I found and solved one issue.

Upon investigating my server for issues with the Plex server app on the NAS, I noticed the clock was incorrect. When trying to do an update, it would fail saying “could not connect to time server, check internet settings”.

This led me down a path and I discovered that for some reason, I have no idea why, but my server traffic was being blocked at the router, but local traffic was allowed.

Removing the blocking rule allowed the time to update. When I went back to the claim page in Plex it was showing claimed now.

So, the tl;dr is double check that the servers’ traffic to the greater internet is not being blocked by a firewall rule or ad blocking rule somewhere.

I can’t prove that this was the problem all along, but it seems to be working now.

STILL NOT HAPPY THAT RESETTING THE PASSWORD RESETS ALL CUSTOMIZATIONS AS WELL!

No. I don’t use Docker.

I download and apply the app directly within DSM.
