The new Plex app for Roku is terrible! There was obviously no user testing/feedback prior to this release. The new UI is cluttered, confusing and unattractive. Roll it back until you can figure out a decent update. And either fire or drug test the design engineers. Theyāre obviously either high or just simply donāt care about Plexās future.

Just found something else I hate about this new Roku app UI. Who thought it would be a good idea for the Search to have 1 X 26 line to enter characters instead of say a 6 X 5 rectangular grid? Please roll this back to previous version.

I honestly have no idea what the new UI is like, because Plex no longer works on my Roku at all.
Starting yesterday, whenever I try to launch the Plex Roku app, it seems to try to load (for a very long time), then randomly does one of two things: Either it causes the Roku to crash and reboot, or else it eventually loads a blank screen that says āWelcomeā at the top and the only available option is to Close the app.
Itās very frustrating.

Bring back the old UI and plug-in support.
When previously notified that plug-in support was being removed, but that it would continue working, I imagined access the plug-ins would continue and if different updates broke the plug-ins, there would be no support or updates.
Indeed, plug-ins DO work still on the browser interface, but not on my Rokus, but I wanted to watch this content on TVs and not PCs.

Can I pay to have the old interface back on my Roku? Please? This is so badā¦ 
If I received this many negative comments in my job about something I did. I would be fired.
I donāt really care about the plugins (but there are a large number of people who doā¦ I think that warrants some attention). Iām mainly upset with the interface. I think the Plex development team owes it to the hundreds of people who took the time to log into the forum and complain about it (Let alone the thousands who wonāt take the time to complain) into consideration.
There really should be 2 versions of the Roku app in my opinion if youāre going to move forward with the new version. A classic version and then maybe the featured version. Even if the default version is the really awful new version and people have to manually install the classic versionā¦ thatād be a solution I think thousands of plex users would settle for. Itās a win/win solution for everyone.
Or better yetā¦ scrap this new version and donāt try to fix something that isnāt broken. We love you old Roku appā¦ please come back to us!

I only used the add ons in the Plex app so I guess it is the end for me. It was good while it lasted.

I CONCUR!
I spent the day at my elderly parents house yesterday showing them the new interface.
They CANNOT see the font on a 55" TV āWrong COLORā dad says. And imho, the new arrangement TOTALLY SUCKS too.
Dad has to move from his fave chair and sit up close to see the font now.
PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK!!!

The new interface is horribleā¦ Its horrible on all platforms. Bring back the server selection. Dump the categories, and make the search on screen keyboard more than one ridiculous line.

I contacted billing and asked them to either help with returning the app to the previous state or cancel my account. Emby looks like a decent alternative. Personally, Iād rather have Plex fix this issue.

I absolutely hate the update. While the change looked decent enough at the onset, every experience from search having to go all the way through the alphabet instead of a grid to not including the entire search list blows my mindā¦ itās like they only expect users to have a couple dozen movies or shows. Give us the option to roll back because this absolutely sucks. I remember reading about a few users beta testing this change, and read a lot of complaints, but apparently the fine people at Plex have stopped listening to what they consider naysayers.

Yep. The redesign was done by people that donāt use the product and donāt communicate with people that use the product.
Itās absolutely anachronistic to do a ābigā re-launch in 2018 especially when it is a forced update.

Their worst sin isnāt even this paradign shift in content management, or the UI faux pasā, or the abandoned features, or the poor communication and apathy to user concerns.
Itās knowing that Rokuās old SDK would cease to function on January 2019 for over 2 years, dragging their feet on a replacement, deciding to reinvent the UI in the replacement rather than getting a working, stable update of the old UI out first, then releasing it unfinished at the 11th hour to the surprise on most users.
Someone needs to be fired and PR person needs to step in and reassure everyone who has been put out by these changes. Plexās reasoning for dumping plugins was that only 2% of users used them. Thatās about how many people have chimed in supporting these changes.

I donāt know why so many complain. This new UI is much better and not that hard to navigate. Obviously non of you have seen the other apps on other devices they are all like this and getting a more unified look across platform. Yes I do use news, yes I do use live TV. Web shows hopefully will get better. The only thing Iām not digging right now is plugins are gone. I hated old UI and hope it never comes back.
I have to agree with anll the others who hate the new ui. You completely altered the underlying mental model making it absolutely impossible for anyone used to the old interface to quickly and intuitively grasp the new experience. This is one of the worst roll-outs ever. Please give me back my libraries and servers. I share servers with friends and there are often buffering issues when watching content on their remote computers. I donāt want all my content mixed together. This is not negotiable. I will find a new platform if you do not make it possible to access content based on libraries and servers.

I too am not impressed with the new UI. I would love it if they would fork the old UI as a classic interface for those of us who are classic users since before version 1. I am now going to have to consider my options going forward

The new UI is Microsoft level stupidity in design and user disrespect.
The thing is Plex is not an OS. Add my name to the request to rollback/downgrade immediately. I will give this platform another week, then I will ditch it.
Hooking my macbook up to the HDMI would be a better option!
