Not sure what to say beyond what’s already been said… I guess i’m part of the 2% that uses plugins and who is pretty upset that they’ve been removed. I’ve had a plex pass for years and well, raved because things just worked. The new interface however is garbage. It’s worse than trying to find things on netflix or prime, which is saying something.
If some updates don’t come down by the Christmas break, i know what i’ll be doing, and that’s finding alternatives.
The kids hate the new interface, the wife hates it (she hated the ipad interface as well) and i’m definitely not a fan.
I built a who ecosystem that revolves around plex… and you’ve ruined it in one update. Here’s hoping for a Christmas miracle and this can be put right.
Definitely finding another app if the interface isnt rolled back for Roku. Its totally unusable. My library was arranged perfectly now I cant get to anything. I have folders for chrismas movies, unwatched movies, anime movies, etc and it takes like a dozen clicks to get to it instead of the 2 clicks it took before. It’s like UX wasnt done on the new site design. I just need my media, not all the extras. BE THE BEST AT HOME MEDIA! PLEASE!!
Agree. And this Linux user gave up Microsoft eleven years ago, and will give up Plex as well if they don’t do a 180 here. I’m a paying Plex Pass supporter.

I am also a Plex Pass Supporter Lifetime and want the plugins back.
I’ve used plex for many years and recently bought a lifetime pass.
Here’s the reasons I bought plex.
Itunes playlists
Streaming my media from my server
Plugins
Tv recording
I have a roku stick and the update killed 3 of those 4 things.
No playlists or plugins.
Streaming crashes every 5-10 minutes.
I feel this update should have been voluntary, like all major software updates, where you can chose to gain/loose features based on personal taste.
The fact nobody asked me if I wanted to “update”, and they just removed the features/reasons I paid for in the first place makes me feel like I was scammed, and I will contact billing and expect a full refund.
Why don’t you just offer a Plex classic roku app that has everything we liked and paid for, and you can experiment away without killing your user base.

Not only is the new interface a bit cumbersome, and please keep tidal away, but now live TV is unreliable on Roku. It used to be Rock solid, now it randomly throws the 33% of death or boots the watcher out with a playback error.

Oh gosh the new Plex server is terrible! Can no longer see my Plug in channels through my Roku! Bring back the old version, you never should have changed it.
I absolutely despise the new UI. Plex on Roku was amazing before. Now my family has to deal with the overly complicated ugly ui that has LESS features. How is an update that removes functionality good? Did you beta test this trash?
I didn’t use the xbox client because of this horrible clunky interface and used my roku as it was usable (even if my server had to transcode)… now the horrible interface is on Roku too. It is annoying as hell having to go to the top of the screen, also I appear to have lost my separate libraries nad the ability to browse my media directories as files…
Yeah what the hell. Why are you adding support for things that have their own apps! Also WE USE PLEX WITH OUR OWN MEDIA. I got rid of music streaming and focused on my personal library. I don’t need streaming service support, especially the third-rate one you got to agree.
But what really made me actually come here to see what the hell happened is PLUGINS. I used Comedy Central DAILY and it saved me tons of valuble hard drive space. Y’all need to wake up and bring that back.
Your music library also supported custom backgrounds but those no longer matter since we’re stuck with an amorphous blob of nothing.
Agree with all. I would gladly reinstall old server, but using it with Roku was CLUTCH. If you cant revert the roku app, is there a way to get refunded my Lifetime Plex Pass?
I agree, BRING back LIBRARIES and FOLDER VIEW! This was one of the best features of Plex! I have meticulously organized my home videos into folders and it’s utterly useless now with the new interface
Where do I start. We use Plex for our own content and as our means of watching TV through the plugins on multiple Roku boxes. I have raved about Plex to family and friends because of this utility and they have joined. Now, well…not so much. I find it hard to believe that only 2% of folks use the plugins as they are one of the most valuable assets about Plex. I can only say I am real disappointed with this change and our household is not really that interested in using Plex in its present configuration. If there is any way that the TV channel plugin functions can be restored to Roku even in the present UI, it would be greatly appreciated otherwise I need to find an alternative.
Folder view is still there, you just have to switch to it.
After selecting your library at the top just to the left of where your account Icon is, which is also settings, you will see ALL MOVIES BY TITLE, select movies and then change it to folder.
Now when you select your server it will take you to the folders set up in that library.
You have to do it for each library but once you do it it stays, mostly. I have found if you can’t connect and then later you go back in it loses this setting and changes it back to by title, makes so sense, but it is better than going crazy with their other view.
Now if we can just get Plex to sort by FOLDER again by default.
