Impossibile to see setting server after logon

Server Version#: plexmediaserver.x86_64 1.25.6.5577-c8bd13540 @Plex
Player Version#: WEB

Hello everybody,

I have a VPS on Contabo that I use little and I was thinking about putting on Plex because at home I can no longer have a PC always on.

On the VPS I have a Centos 7 which I use as a repository for backups and there are no special packages installed.

I have installed Plex without problems but after logging in for the first time I am “stuck” on my account screen without being able to see the server and its settings. There is absolutely nothing I can do. I tried to create a VM on the fly on Virtual Box following the same procedure and I didn’t have any kind of problem. I see the server and am able to add libraries with files.

I tried everything, I redo the installation 3 times, I completely disabled the Firewall (CSF + LFD) but the result is the same. I can log in, but I can’t see the server settings.

Has this ever happened to anyone?

Make sure to connect “locally” to your Plex Media Server in order to finish the server setup. For security reasons you can only do that while being on the same subnet.

As this is a VPS you could do that via a remote desktop session (if available) or a SSH tunnel.

A thousand thanks! I was stupid not to have read the guide carefully. Perfectly fixed with SSH and Putty tunnels on windows. The server is now fully operational.
