Incoming friend request/share not showing up in users & sharing

And in my email I get this message, clicking on the link redirects to " Oops, unable to accept the invitation…

The invitation was sent to a different email address.

Please sign in to the correct Plex account or create a new Plex account under the email address to which the invitation was sent."

At one point I did change my email but I confirmed that my current plex email is what it was sent to.

Message in email:

Someone wonderful has shared their Plex media with you!
Hi there!

You’ve been invited by X to share some media in Plex. To accept the invitation and view your friend’s media, click the following link:

Enjoy the additional media and be sure to thank your friend

Then it won’t work, because the invitation was either directed at a different plex.tv account or at an account which doesn’t exist.
