Plex TV Series and Plex Series used as scanner and agent results in errors in the episodes appearing for the TV Series “Petrocelli” from 1974. If I change the library to use “TheTVDB” as the agent, which changes the scanner to “Plex Series Scanner” the series is reported correctly, both for episodes and descriptions. But then if I upgrade to the “Plex TV Series”, it messes up again.
Tried changing the order sorting on the series itself to use TheTVDB, does not fix it. Only changing the scanner at the library itself allows it to appear properly. I want to use the new scanner, but I also want the series and metadata to be correct. How can I fix this, or how can I notify Plex about this issue? Is there a place to see what data is being used for the Plex TV Series? Why wouldn’t they agree with TheTVDB?
What kind of errors?
Apparently, the order of episodes is different between TheMovieDB.org and TheTVDB.com
However, this should have been solved by editing the show and setting the “Episode ordering” to “TheTVDB (aired)”.
After changing this setting, sometimes Refresh Metadata of the whole sereis is necessary.
I am not getting any errors, but the order of the episodes is OK (as I remember), but the description of the episodes is incorrect. For example, episode 5 the description should be “The threatened revelation of damaging ecological information results in a murder that Petrocelli must solve.” But the description of that episode is something similar to “Petrocelli defends a spoiled heiress accused of planting a grenade in her father’s airplane to speed up her inheritance.”
There are numerous episodes like that, yes I could manually edit them, but I should not have to do that.
Yes, I believe that is in fact what is happening. Do I need to notify TMDB and let them know they have wrong data? Both IMDB and TheTVDB agree with each other. And that episode “Edge of Evil” is the one which should be “The threatened revelation of damaging ecological information results in a murder that Petrocelli must solve.”
You can edit TMDB yourself, if you are certain that the description in there is actually wrong.
Of course since this is a community-driven database, another user might easily be able to revert your edits.
Which is then the time when you need to visit their forums or file an edit request with them. But this is usually only necessary when there is bigger conflict.
So, is there anyway to actually edit the series as posted?
I have corrected the episode names and descriptions, but that is all I can do, everything else appears to be locked. The screenshots on the episodes are incorrect, I would like to arrange the ordering so it matches thetvdb…com (putting the pilot episode on season 1), but I am unable to do so. Do I need to message them, or start a new thread to post what corrections I want to make?
Don’t completely re-arrange the series. Someone else might have already tried that in the past, which could be the reason why the series is locked.
With some series there is more than one version of the truth.
If you encountered such a conflict, the only way indeed to ask for changes is to use their forum.
