Infinite spinning circle after console standby

Hi,

Since the update I sometimes have the problem that when Plex is still open:

1) Console boots from standby and Plex is in the recently used tiles (and not closed)

2) I click on the tile, Plex maximizes and I see the spinning circle (I assume it refreshes or something)

(But Plex does not start from the ground (so no big PLEX logo at the start and so on), it just maximizes and the spinning circle appears.)

And this goes on forever

I have to back out to the dashboard => menu->quit and then load Plex from the ground again and it works flawlessly every time.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Exactly same thing I've noticed too.

Same thing happens to me about half the time.

Same for me, only worse: I had to uninstall and reinstall Plex to get it to open again.

I have experienced this as well. Forcing a reboot of the Xbox One has "fixed" the problem.

I am still having this issue, it is extremely annoying that I have to force quit the app every time I want to use plex.... has anyone found a solution to this? or can anyone on the plex team comment on it?

I've not seen this with our testing internally. Sorry!

We're working on improving the information from the app/server for users, and for us, when stuff like this happens. Hopefully that will help.

Hi Guys, I had this issue at first.

Not sure if this is what fixed it, but worth mentioning.

I changed my gamer profile from requiring the 'Pin' to log in, to automatically logging in on start up and the problem seemed to go away.

Hope that helps?

Interesting! Thanks for the hint - that could well be influencing it.

I have the problem described, despite having a profile that logs in automatically-- at least using Kinect.

Damn, thought it might have been worth a mention.

How does your Xbox log in using Kinect? Do you still have to select your user / sit in front of the Kinect for it to recognise you?

My Xbox logs in directly, I dont have any other users.

I get this from time to time. I don't think it is an issue with Plex. I used to have the same problem when using "Instant On" with Titan Fall. From time to time I have to switch from "Power Saving" mode to "Instant On" in the power settings to get around this. FYI, EA Games are the ones that told me sometimes apps have issues returning from sleep . . . and we have all used Windows before, right?

I like your optimism that it's not our fault  :D I've also had apps/games not startup (seemingly at random) and a full reset has been required, but I still want to be sure we're not doing anything wrong.

The extra logging we're adding should help us out here. Hope it's not causing too much annoyance for you.

I’ve been having this same problem on two xboxes.

Just to note, I changed to the auto login, and while I feel like it may not happen as often, it still definitely does happen. Not sure if it is on the Xbox or plex side though, sometimes I feel like the Xbox is not super stable(Amazon instant video and Netflix app both freeze sometime)

Happens to me every few days or so (maybe once a week). I just have to reboot the box. I have never had an issue with the Amazon app, but Netflix is more frequent that plex for me. To clarify, I never have the issue if the energy saving mode is on. Only when the instant on dale studs is used.

Also to clarify, quitting the app will not fix it, only a soft reboot through the menus will work.
