Install going sideways

<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>Installed on Linux mint, all was fine except no Posters. played with that for days and no joy. Decided to uninstall, and try again this time with flat pack, mistake. Deleted that with the GUI and decided to try following the plex instillation route again and what a mess.

If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know, very new to Linux. Plex was formally on the Win 10 computer, very easy install and everything just worked. Linux, not so much. Thanks ahead of time for any help.

Don’t use Mint.

Pretty old CPU, good for Music and AVC(h.264) media.

After you reload with Ubuntu, download the .deb file from the download page to be sure you don’t install the snap version via apt.

Thanks for the response, I’ll give that a try.

@kcleary

To add , Mint is not vetted for PMS use. It’s unfortunately demonstrated too many times that it’s unreliable for the rigors of hosting a media server application.

I’ve spent many hours with folks trying to make it work and actually seeing commands fail which work everywhere else.

Once you go to Ubuntu or Debian (Ubuntu is preferred for most users), you’ll have a completely different experience.

Thanks to both of you, saved me a lot of time. Felt like I was in a demolition derby here trying to figure what was supposed to be an easy install. I like Mint so maybe I’ll put Ubuntu on another PC or on another drive on this computer. Thanks again for the help.
