I’m in the process of trying to install .4973 on my Synology DS920+ and it’s been saying “Updating” for over an hour now; should I continue to wait?
Please let it continue.
I just made an announcement in the main thread
Did you upgrade from the older version or install fresh?
“Updating” implies it knows where it’s going and is existing.

IF I may add here?
For reasons I do not understand,
-
The script performs a ‘move’ operation (a rename) to place the hidden server info into the new “PlexMediaServer” shared folder which exists on the same volume.
-
I do not understand why, for some, that becomes a COPY operation. I’ve not yet determined the pattern.
If anyone can look at
-
Where PMS (the package) is installed (Package Center)
-
Where the PlexMediaServer shared folder gets created (Control panel)
-
If they are not the same, – PLEASE ping me ?
Thanks
I’m still trying to figure out why.
If you see any of the above, please let me know?
I am having the same issue, tho its not been an hour. About 5min in. DMS 7 DS920+ also
Five minutes on a DS920 seems long.
How much media do you have indexed ?
Which DSM version do you have installed ?
I’m starting to smell a rat
@ChuckPa
DSM 7.0-41890
I have about 10 TB of plex media
looks like i just have to wait a bit PMS 1.24.2.4973-7000 DSM stuck at Updating
edit: its done, …
Remember…
That first PMS install on DSM 7 – potentially a “Go to bed and check in the morning” event if you have a LOT indexed.
It takes 2-3 minutes per 1000 items indexed (as I show in the release and migration thread)
Linking it here for convenience
The guy who wrote it talks a lot so please be tolerant
(but he has a lot of pictures )
