Server Version#: ubuntu 22.04 LTS
Player Version#:1.32.6.7557-1cf77d501
I don’t know what’s happening with plex now that I can’t install a new server on Linux, I’ve tried everything,
multiple versions of Ubuntu from 18.04 to 22.04
I have tried different versions of plex from 1.29 to the latest 1.32
In all installations it ends correctly, everything seems to work, when I access the web interface to configure the server, I access my credentials, enter and in the process between choosing the server name and configuring the content libraries, I get a message that says that There is no connection to the server.
I was installing it on a server on my same LAN network so I accessed it through the internal LAN IP, but I got that error, so according to this Plex manual I have made a tunnel using SSL to access the machine:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/200288586-installation/
but it hasn’t worked for me, I keep getting that error.
I decided to try a Ubuntu with a graphical interface so I didn’t have to make the ssh tunnel anymore, and I accessed it directly in the browser using:
localhost
127.0.0.1
ip_lan
but it still doesn’t work, the server authenticates against my account, that’s because I see the server on authorized devices in my account, but I can’t access it to configure it or claim it as mine.
The message that comes out is exactly this:
Not authorized
You do not have access to this server.
You can claim it by selecting “Open Plex…” from the Plex menu in the macOS menu bar or Windows system tray. For more troubleshooting tips, see our .
It gives me a link where there is a manual that explains that I must locate the preference.xml file and edit it by removing a couple of parameters and restart the server. I have already done it countless times but I keep getting the same error.
I have tried everything, can you help me please.
