A friend of mine wanted me to set him up with the exact same Synology/Plex Server setup I have.
I’ve installed Plex Media Server on his Synology but ran in to an issue where when he signs into his new Plex server using his Plex Pass account he doesn’t have any Server Settings. If I sign into his server with my Plex Pass account I do have access to all of the server settings. At the moment both Synology Servers are on my home network. Same subnet.
I’m not sure why his Plex Pass account does not let him access the Plex Server Settings. It’s acting like I’m the Owner of his Synology/Plex Media Server. Attached is a screen shot of what the settings menus looks like when he logs in.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Plex Media Server on his Synology but the same issue happened. Any ideas how to fix this issue?
Note: I had to log in as myself in order to get the troubleshooting option. If I log in as the other Plex Pass user the entire Server Settings selections is missing.
So the issue I’m having is the owner of the new Synology/Plex Server while using his Plex Pass can’t access the Server Settings while he is logged in. Only if I log in to his Plex Server while using my Plex Pass account can I make changes to his Plex Media Server settings.
Both Plex Servers are currently on my home network for initial installation and setup.
My Synology/Plex Media Server is at network address 10.0.0.10
His Synology/Plex Media Server is at network address 10.0.0.231
When I bring up a web browser page and go to his server (10.0.0.231) and log in using his Plex Pass credentials he is not able to make Server Settings changes. For some reason his server thinks I’m the owner of it. Although during installation I never actually logged into his server using my Plex account. From the get go I used his Plex Pass account and thought everything was working great until I went to settings and found he didn’t have any options to add libraries or any other server related changes.
I’m setting up the server for my friend. I can certainly have him log into the forum and talk to you on this thread. Didn’t think that was necessary though. Just trying to get him setup with the same system I have.
I’ve attached another screen shot of what it looks like when using his credentials. As you can see I don’t have a choice of going to Troubleshooting and downloading the log. Which is why I sent the last one to you as me logged in. If you can tell me how to get the logs while using his account I will certainly do so.
His account is prehistoric, mine is doubletap1911.
I signed out of both plex servers. Stopped both of them from running an logged out of his account on plex.tv
I restarted Plex on his server, gave it several minutes then typed in https://10.0.0.231:32400/web (which is his server). It asked me to log in so I did so with his Plex Pass credentials. After logging it it came up with this screen.
