Installing and Accessing Plex Media Server on Synology

I’m having trouble accessing my Plex Media Server from my computer after installing it on my NAS. I’ve searched the forums and have been working this for 2 days with little progress. Hoping someone might have some new ideas for me to try.

Here is my setup:
Plex Media Server 1.13.2.5154
DSM 6.1.7
DS218+ (with a fixed IP address assigned from the router)

I downloaded the Plex Media Server from the website. Did the manual install and ran the server. When I went to access the server thru the webpage I get the ‘Looking for servers…’ message. There were several posts about being sure to disable the firewall and VPN settings and I’ve done that. I’ve also done several start/stops of server to remove plexmediaserver.pid and Preferences.xml (as documented in previous posts). And I’ve done several uninstalls/installs with no luck.

Any ideas or help anyone could provide would be appreciated.

Thanks!

My NAS and computer are both on the same network and have ip addresses in the 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255 ranges.

I did not setup a VPN on the NAS; the only VPN I have is setup thru the router itself.

I only referenced the VPN in my initial post because it was part of your help guide and that I had checked to make sure it was disabled.

Ok, I’ll remove the VPN and see if solves the issue.
